Where your Larchwood data lives
Revised 1 November 2026
The short version of how we handle your data
Larchwoodgames is built to know as little about you as possible. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms and no comment boxes. We run no analytics and no advertising trackers. The few pieces of information the site does handle are described below, along with where they live and how to remove them.
This policy is written to meet our obligations under PIPEDA, Canada’s federal private-sector privacy law.
Hearts and the cookie choice never leave your laptop
When you tap the heart on a game, the site remembers your choice so your shortlist is still there next time. That list is kept in your browser’s localStorage, a small storage area on your own device. It is never sent to us, and we cannot see it.
The same is true of your choice on the cookie notice. Clearing your browser data, or using a private window, removes both. Shared shortlist links simply carry the game names in the address, so whoever opens them sees the same list.
The typefaces, and the one company that serves them
Our typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. To deliver those files, Google’s servers receive your IP address and basic details about your browser, as happens with any request for a web resource. Google’s own privacy policy covers how it handles that information.
We use Google Fonts only to display the site’s lettering. It does not give us any information about who you are or what you read.
Emails that land in the Larchwood inbox
If you email editors@larchwoodgames.com, we receive your address and whatever you choose to tell us. We use that only to read your message and reply to it, and we keep it only as long as needed for that conversation. We never add you to a mailing list or share your message with anyone.
Once a play button carries you off to a publisher
Play buttons open each game’s official website in a new tab. Once you are there, that publisher’s own privacy policy applies, and its saves, cookies and any data collection are under its control rather than ours.
Many idle games store your progress in your browser too. Clearing your browser data may erase those saves, so consider using each game’s export option to keep a backup.
Your rights and how to use them
Because we hold so little, most requests are simple. You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete an email you sent. Write to editors@larchwoodgames.com and we will respond promptly.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, which oversees PIPEDA.
Changes to this policy
If the way the site handles information ever changes, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. Anything new will be explained here in the same plain language, so you never need to wonder what Larchwoodgames does with your data.
